Much of my family is from Kentucky. An extended family member of mine helped clear the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap with Daniel Boone. This route opened up western expansion into Kentucky that predominantly followed bison migratory trails and Native American routes. Growing up I would hear stories about Daniel Boone, visit Fort Boonesborough, and learn a lot about frontier lore.
