Angelo State University has been awarded a grant of nearly $1.5 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a new project to provide enhanced opportunities for minority, low-income and other under-represented student groups in ASU's David L. Hirschfeld Department of Engineering.

Angelo State University's Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) degree program has earned accreditation by the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission, retroactive to October 2020.

With ABET accreditation, engineering graduates will be eligible to achieve the professional engineer credentials necessary for employment in an engineer firm.
