We are here on p or shtick in lynchburg, virginia and the home of dr. Robert johnson. Next, we talked to his grandson about dr. Johnsons role in the desegregation tennis. This is the location of where it all happen 15th and peter street, lynchburg, virginia. Dr. Johnson set up a Junior Development program in 1951 to train the best and brightest kid. Mostly african americans, in the sport of tennis. He would mentor them, work on strategy and tactics and have kids, and stay for the summer. Usually about a dozen kids per year.
