Little league field cleanup day May 1
On the morning of Saturday, May 1 at 10 a.m., Williams YMCA of Avery County, in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Banner Elk, will be cleaning the local Little League facilities in preparation for the opening of the baseball league’s divisions of play later in the spring. The effort is part of the Kiwanis One Day community program, and volunteers are needed to help with painting, trash pickup, replacing a tin roof, mulching and pulling weeds, among other tasks.
