I spent half my life working with the criminal justice system, and ive seen lives devastated by violence. We like to imagine that after the verdict, the story is over. The victim and the offender are never meant to meet again. But for some, the only way to move forward is to come face to face with the person who shattered their lives. So im here in twin lakes, wisconsin, population 6,041. People live here because they expect it to be peaceful and safe for their kids, but the chaos has come here in the form of this opioid crisis. And this town was torn apart by a horrific accident in june of 2013. Nathan walters was killed by somebody who was high on heroin. I want to meet with nathans mother, michelle.
