View Comments LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 14-year-old boy riding a motorcycle died Wednesday night after he struck an SUV in Valley Station, according to Louisville Metro Police. Third Division officers responded about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to the reported crash at the intersection of Winding Stream Drive and Winding Stream Way, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said. A preliminary investigation found a "dirt bike style motorcycle" was heading west on Winding Stream Way, when the operator failed to stop at the stop sign and hit the SUV near the front wheel, Mitchell said. 14-year-old dies after crashing dirt bike, police say     LOUISVILLE, Kentucky (WLKY) — A 14-year-old is dead after crashing his dirt bike into a car in Valley Station, police said. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Winding Stream Drive and Winding Stream Way. LMPD said the boy was westbound on Winding Stream Way when he ran a stop sign and hit an SUV near its front wheel. The boy was thrown from his bike onto the hood of the SUV. He was taken to UofL Hospital where he later died of his injuries. Police said he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
