The South of England Agricultural Society has announced the dates for its four seasonal shows for 2021.

The Hawk Eye Not even COVID-19 could stop families from around Des Moines County from its annual tradition of presenting livestock to be judged and sold. As the first day of budget season winded down, the board of supervisors heard from members of the Des Moines County Fair Board about their proposed budget. "It's a family thing," supervisor Jim Cary told members of the fair board. "It is family-oriented and has been since I've been around." In a normal year, the fair would have been filled to the brim with campers and children presenting their 4H projects. But in 2020, nothing was normal.
