Spring forward, fall back. That's the way it's always been. Or has it? This weekend the clocks go back. At 2.00 am on Sunday 25th October we start our descent into the darkness. For most of us, it seems like it's always been this way. Daylight Saving Time starts at the end of March and ends on the last weekend in October. In fact, it hasn't always been this way. Nowadays, all the countries of the EU change their clocks on the same day. This standardized schedule across the EU has only been in place since 1996, however. Before that, each country had its own schedule.
