Kihcihkaw askî-Sacred Land — Canada’s first-of-its-kind urban Indigenous ceremony grounds opened in Edmonton.
Edmonton – or amiskwacîwâskahikan as it's known in Cree – is now home to urban Indigenous ceremonial grounds, which officials say is the first of its kind in the country.
Kihcihkaw askî means ‘this place here is sacred’ in Cree.
Kihcihkaw askî-Sacred Land, will provide a river valley setting to host ceremonies, sweatlodges and other events.
