Oklahomans can apply for the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission s back-to-work incentive program starting on Monday.
The initiative offers $1,200 to anyone who returns to work and works at least 32 hours a week for six weeks.
OESC Executive Director Shelley Zumwalt said it has around 200,000 people WHO have not returned to the workforce and there are 37% more job openings in the state than it had pre-pandemic.
We re excited because the number keeps going down and hopefully we ll have a sub-four number here in the next couple months, said Zumwalt.
Extra federal unemployment benefits ended this weekend in Oklahoma.
The OESC said the state s unemployment rate is getting closer to pre-pandemic levels, falling 4% in May. ....
