The Workforce Commission says the Louisiana Legislative Auditor identified over $6 million paid to nearly 1,200 inmates who are not eligible for unemployment benefits. The LWC's policy requires those seeking unemployment benefits to search for work, which is not possible for those who are incarcerated.
