Members. ali, i was actually with protesters yesterday as that news came down. people were cheering. saying that this is a win for them. part of the kind of action and accountability response that they wanted to see from the memphis police department. for most of those folks it is not enough. they highly doubt, in the words in conversations that i ve had with residents here, these five officers would be the only five in the scorpion unit who they feel are worth arcing into. they have a lot of questions about the culture in that unit. for any viewer who maybe doesn t have enough context of what these units are supposed to do, they are something like a scorpion unit in most major cities in the united states. they are supposed to be these elite squads. often these officers are handpicked. they are supposed to focus on major crime reduction strategies. they are supposed to be going out to big guys. gangs, removing guns off the streets stopping carjackings that kind of stuff. they are not ....
