A MULTI-MILLION pound scheme to reduce the risk of flooding to 170 homes in Basingstoke has finished. This is the story of two chapels separated by nearly 250 years. In 1208, a dispute between King John and the Pope meant that burials in consecrated ground were forbidden for about 6 years.
