解放许昌时缴获一台收讯机成为西柏坡纪念馆的镇馆之宝-许昌网

1947年12月，经过13个小时的激烈战斗，解放军登上许昌城东南角的文昌阁，许昌全城解放。这次战斗共击毙、俘虏敌官兵近7000人，缴获各种火炮70多门、汽车近百辆，并缴获一列装满弹药的火车，以及几座军用仓库和其他大量军用物资。华东野战军副司令员粟裕来电表示祝贺和慰问。
华东野战军第三纵队召开英模表彰大会，命名第八师二十三团八连为“许昌连”，并奖励“神速突击、顽强制胜”锦旗一面。王明杰等4人威震敌胆，被誉为“许昌西门楼上的四勇士”。
陈书壮说，解放军主力部队暂时撤离后，我军与国民党军队在许昌形成了“六进五出”的拉锯战局面。1948年6月7日，中原野战军一部在地方部队和许昌县县大队的配合下，第六次解放许昌，许昌这座历史名城永远回到了人民手中。
