On legislation regarding the deficit, but i suspect they re going to start being heard on issues like afghanistan. there s no question about it. what i really like for in the new congress is the 2012 election cycle because you have the cross-currents in the republican party on the legislative agenda, the issue of spending and the deficit, that s a 2012 issue. what mitch mcconnell and other republican leaders want to do is try to keep enough boy yancy in the republican party to help any 2012 contender. the race will be on, it s already on. we may not have a flurry of announcements early in the year as you might expect, but never the less, a lot of the positioning, a lot of the gamesmanship will be around protecting that for 2012. joe, i wonder if some of the new players on the republican side may stand out and actually break the mold that their party ....
