She is known for her work with the Young Disciples and numerous collaborations. Her distinguished solo career began in 1992. She is the daughter of the singer Vicki Anderson, stepdaughter of Bobby Byrd and goddaughter of James Brown. Singer-songwriter Bobby Anderson is her son.

UK house DJ Phil Asher has died, aged 50. The sad news was shared on social media on Friday 22nd January, with tributes coming from fellow DJs, friends and music industry figures across the UK and beyond. The DJ reportedly passed away in his sleep after suffering a heart attack. Phil grew up in West London, and followed his dad into working in record shops.
