Tributes to former Royal Navy officer killed in crash with lorry The family of a man who died following a crash between two cars and a lorry on a Hampshire road have today paid tribute to him. Police were called to the incident at junction 3 of the A3(m) near Waterlooville at 11.40am last Tuesday. The driver of one of the cars, Malcolm Williams, 69, of Gains Road, Southsea, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cdre Williams served as operations officer on the Type 21 frigate HMS Ambuscade during the Falklands conflict. He also served as navigator aboard aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious and commanded both HMS Andromeda and HMS Scylla. He was commanding officer on HMS Fearless while she was deployed in the Far East for the handover of Hong Kong in 1997.
