Two drones overflying the IAF station at Jammu – located only 14 km away from the India Pakistan border, dropped a kilogram each of payload and flew back unscathed is not an ordinary event. One bomb landed on the administrative building, not far away from a helicopter hangar and the other exploded in the lawns. Two personnel – Arvind Singh and SK Singh survived with mild injuries. Given the crucial nature of the attack, the case was quickly handed over to NIA as NSG also joined the investigations. Police believe it was a terror attack. Delhi raised the issue at the United Nations and Pakistan rejected its involvement.

Last week shock waves spread across the southern district of Pulwama after unidentified assailants shot dead an ex-special police officer, his wife, and his daughter. Later the investigations by local police revealed the unidentified gunmen were anti- India fighters.
Scores of local policemen have been targeted in Kashmir after New Delhi launched an all out operation in 2017, aimed at neutralizing pro-independence activists. According to police sources at least 70 pro-India fighters and 17 government forces personal including 10 local policemen, have been killed in Kashmir so far this year.
In the recent gun battle between Government forces and anti-India fighters, police claims to have killed 5 people. According to media reports, family members of one of the slain men, Zakir Bashir claimed he was an innocent civilian, picked up from his home and killed in custody, and then presented as a militant who died in encounter. However, police insisted the youth had joined the anti-India group 'just days before his elimination'.

Mehbooba calls for Indian forces accountability after minor's killing

Mehbooba calls for Indian forces accountability after minor’s killing
Ag APP
ISLAMABAD: Former occupied Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said Indian forces must be held accountable “whenever legitimate questions are raised” over so-called encounters as the recent surge in brutalities sparked protests in the disputed territory.
Her remarks come after Indian police killed three youths, including 17-year-old Zakir Bashir, in one such “encounter” in Kulgam on July 1. Bashir’s family said the Indian troops dragged the teen out of his home, beat him up and shot him twice before slitting his throat.
On Friday Pakistan strongly condemned the extrajudicial killing of the teen by the occupation forces and called upon the international community to take notice of the heinous crimes of India in the shape of extrajudicial killings and illegal abductions of Kashmiri people.
