Alleged land grabber among 11 arrested in Mardan MARDAN: The police arrested 11 persons including an alleged land grabber during raids on Friday. A communique said Muhammad Ismail Awan, an alleged land grabber. had recently been appointed as the chief warden of the Civil Defence Department. He had recently posted his pictures with weapons in police uniforms on social media. Awan was arrested after Peshawar High Court dismissed his BBA. The police also recovered several motorcycles and also arrested a bike lifter in the city while the cops arrested nine other people with illegal weapons. Taking notice of motorcycle lifting incidents in the city, District Police Officer Dr Zahidullah Khan formed a team who conducted raids and arrested an accused, identified as Zawar Hussain, a resident of Swabi district. The cops also recovered six stolen motorcycles from the accused’s possession. Also, the cops in Shahbaz Garhi area recovered illegal weapons including Quaid Ali, Yar Muhammad, Wajid Ali, Hamid, Shah Faisal, Muhammad Saeed, Salman, Ashiq, and Mahir Ali. Photo courtesy: Sindh Rangers Multiple injuries were reported on Saturday in a warehouse fire in Karachi s Sindh Industrial & Trading Estate (SITE) area, police and rescue officials said. The fire brigade said that the blaze started shortly after 9am but was controlled by 3:00pm. A total of 14 fire tenders took part in extinguishing the flames. The cause of the fire and estimation of loss could not be ascertained immediately. Station House Officer (SHO) Zawar Hussain said that the three-storey building had been badly damaged in the incident. He said that any action regarding the possible negligence of the godown administration will be taken in light of the final report. ....
