FOXBORO The Patriots might not be done building out their offensive line before the 2024 season. The Patriots took a non-traditional approach to replacing Trent Brown at left tackle this offseason, signing ex-Steelers starting right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor and selecting Penn State starting right tackle Caedan Wallace in the third round in hopes that one or both players could transition to the left side.
The New England Patriots reportedly told Andrew Stueber they plan to waive him. New England reduces the number of offensive linemen on their 90-man offseason roster to 17.
Elsewhere on a trying offensive day, Jacoby Brissett took several sacks, young corners caused disruption in the secondary, the defense dominated in the red zone and a young receiver missed practice after stretching.
FOXBORO Patriots rookie Drake Maye seemingly still hasn't ascended over Jacoby Brissett or Bailey Zappe on the quarterback depth chart through a week of organized team activities practices, but he's still putting in the work early in his NFL career. While Brissett and Zappe met with reporters at podiums on the side of the Patriots' practice field, Maye and rookie wide receivers Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker spent extra time after practice continuing to throw and catch, sneaking in extra reps after a two-hour-long practice.
