KVRR Local News July 10, 2021 FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) Twisted Royalty hosted its second annual Addiction Awareness Show at the Fargo Air Museum. It’s all in an effort to raise money for anyone struggling with drug addictions. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Recovery Works LLC. That includes all riffles, merchandise, and ticket sales that will go towards fighting addiction. Twisted Royalty says there have been about 80 cars at the show. The president says one of the club members wanted to dedicate this show to addiction awareness. “The Addiction Awareness Show came to me when a club member asked us to do something for addiction. As that is something he has struggled with his whole life. We thought the best way to give back would be to find a local charity like Recovery Works LLC, which does recovery work and sober living here in Fargo,” Twisted Royalty ND President Alex Wieland said. ....

The week-long event begins with a weekend of programming honoring Vietnam Veterans and featuring a number of guest speakers. Special exhibits of Vietnam War vehicles and artifacts will be on display throughout the week. The opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on April 24 following the arrival of the FM Crusaders and Camp Ripley Huey helicopters and a 21-gun salute presented by representatives from AMVETS Post #7. The opening ceremony will feature Green Beret First Sergeant Joe Wallevand as the keynote speaker and will include remarks from local dignitaries. ....

Santa Claus made a visit to the Fargo Air Museum to spread holiday cheer to those in the community. The Fargo Air Museum is known for a pretty special tradition: Santa arriving from the skies to meet kids and take photos. This year, the museum wasn’t able to hold up that tradition due to COVID restrictions, but they made sure Santa could still pay a visit. “Next year we hope that we can get him back in a helicopter of some sort or maybe an aircraft to taxi in,” said Fargo Air Museum Executive Director Ryan Thayer. ....
