FARGO In many of his interviews so far with about 80 of the 200 police department employees during his first months on the job, Fargo Police Chief David Zibolski has heard recurring concerns about the promotion process.
So, he set out to change it.
It ll be in full view this Friday afternoon, July 2, when the selection of two police department captains and the assistant chief will be announced as part of his reorganization of the department to put the right people in the right roles. ....

Fargo Fire Department releases 2020 report: Chief says "busiest yet"

FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fargo Fire Chief Steve Dirksen says as the city continues to grow, the number of fires and emergency calls also continues to increase.
Dirksen told city commissioners 2020 was the busiest year ever for the fire department as he released the annual fire department report.
There 246 fires. Cooking fires and smoking material fires continued to be the most common cause of structure fires. 153 were classified as accidental, 37 were arson, an increase of 13 from 2019. Several “high dollar-loss” fires were caused by cigarettes improperly disposed of on exterior balconies.
Medical emergency calls hit 7,312, the highest number yet. Most of those calls were downtown. Firefighters responded to 130 hazmat calls, and three water rescues. ....
