FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA Board members were aware of two civil lawsuits filed against Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis when he was an officer in Prince George s County, Maryland, Jeff McKay, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, confirmed in an interview Saturday with Patch.
We were made aware of them through the process, McKay said. We were not aware of them before we did the interviews, but we were made aware of them before the chief was sworn in. ....

Virginia county prohibits voluntary information-sharing with ICE


Authorities say the unnamed officer violated policy by alerting ICE about a man who was wanted for missing his deportation hearing; Garrett Tenney reports from Fairfax, Virginia.
The Fairfax County, Virginia, Board of Supervisors this week voted to prohibit federal employees, including police, from voluntarily sharing information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The county is the first in the state to implement such a policy called the Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy, according to Fairfax BOS Chairman Jeffrey McKay, who said during a Tuesday board meeting that the hopes the rule will be a model used throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and other states, as well. ....
