Sallah: FRSC deploys equipment, officers in FCT, states

The Federal Road Safety Corps has commenced massive mobilisation of its personnel and operational equipment for the Sallah special patrol aimed at ensuring a safer road environment following the declaration of Thursday, May 13, 2021, Eid el Fitr in Nigeria
Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, disclosed this, saying no fewer than 35,000 of the FRSC Regular, Special Marshals, and Road Safety Club Members, about 750 patrol vehicles, 120 ambulances, 25 tow trucks, and over 200 bikes would be on the road during the special operation that would commence from 11 to 17 May 2021.
Kazeem stated that the Corps is embarking on the special patrol operation to ensure that motorists and other road users have a hitch-free celebration, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and security challenges in the country. ....

Al-Makura: I will contest for APC Chairmanship if zoned to North Central

The immediate past governor, who is a leading contender for the office of the National Chairman of the ruling party in Nigeria, commended them for the visit, appreciating Governor Abdullahi Sule for taking the leading role in the campaign for his APC chairmanship ambition.
Senator Al-Makura stated this in a statement signed by his press secretary, Mr Danjuma Joseph, and made available to the Daily Trust in Lafia on Sunday.
Tunga said they were in Senator Al-Makura’s residence to strengthen the existing relationship and pray for him to get to the top as the National Chairman of APC.
Al-Makura, who said he is yet to officially declare his ambition owing to lack of guidelines by the caretaker committee of APC, said, as a loyal member, he would abide by any position taken by the party. ....

Nasarawa 2022 budget: Stakeholders want rural development, others

Akwanga (Nasarawa State), April 29, 2021 ( Stakeholders in Nasarawa North Senatorial District on Thursday urged the state government to prioritise rural development, education, and economic empowerment in its 2022 Budget.
The stakeholders made the appeal during a town hall meeting on citizensâ budget participation held in Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Area.
They said that prioritising these three indices would help improve the peopleâs standard of living, boost socio-economic activities and the overall development of the state
The stakeholders added that prioritising rural development would also reduce youth restiveness and check insecurity in the state.
The town hall meeting, which was organised by the Budget Department, Nasarawa State Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Planning, had as its theme: âSocial Pact with the People: The Way Forward for Greater Development.â ....
