Organizers completed phase two of the Broadway lights project, with the idea of bringng a bright, energetic atmosphere to downtown Billings.
Four months after hanging lights over Broadway between 1st Avenue North and 2nd Avenue North, lights went up between between 2nd and 3rd on Sunday.
Some of the people living and working downtown have volunteered and made contributions.
Electricians put up 382 LED bulbs that will make for an economical electricity bill.
Mayor Bill Cole says the lights are indicative of the vibrancy downtown. ....

Hollywood Power Producer Scott Rudin to 'Step Back' from Broadway Work amid Professional Abuse Allegations

NEW YORK (AP) Amid mounting anger over allegations of bullying, Broadway and Hollywood producer Scott Rudin broke his silence Saturday, saying he is “profoundly sorry” and will step back from his theater work.
“After a period of reflection, I’ve made the decision to step back from active participation on our Broadway productions, effective immediately. My roles will be filled by others from the Broadway community and in a number of cases, from the roster of participants already in place on those shows,” Rudin said in a statement.
The move comes more than a week after The Hollywood Reporter’s cover story on Rudin contained accounts of the producing heavyweight throwing glass bowls, staples and baked potatoes at former employees. In his statement Saturday he did not deny the allegations. ....

The powerful producer faces accusations of abuse and intimidation going back decades.

Producer Scott Rudin will “step back” from Broadway, following a series of allegations that he was abusive in the workplace over the course of decades, he told The Washington Post.
Rudin apologized for the “pain” he has caused and said he would be “taking steps that I should have taken years ago to address this behavior.”
“Much has been written about my history of troubling interactions with colleagues, and I am profoundly sorry for the pain my behavior caused to individuals, directly and indirectly,” the producer of Broadway’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “The Book of Mormon” said in his statement. ....
