The U.S. Department of Transportationâs National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Acadiana Regional Transportation Safety Coalition are reminding Louisiana drivers to buckle up this week.
The national Click It or Ticket seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 24 to June 6, 2021.
âWe want the act of buckling up to become automatic to all drivers and passengers,â said Ron Czajkowski, Regional Safety Coordinator. âItâs not just a safe thing to do â itâs the law. During the Click It or Ticket campaign, weâll be working with our law enforcement partners across local and state lines to ensure the message gets out to drivers and passengers. Buckling up is the simplest thing you can do to limit injury or save your life during a crash. We see the result ....

The name of the campaign each year is Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over , and that is the message that the Acadiana Regional Transportation Safety Coalition and local law enforcement want to hammer home to everyone.

Two coalitions are teaming up to offer a webinar next week aimed at helping young drivers understand the imperative nature of wearing a seat belt.
This effort is part of the bigger programs from the state of Louisiana called The Louisiana Strategic Highway Safety Program Destination Zero Death. Based on the information compiled by local, state and federal officials, the research shows that teenagers are less likely to wear their seat belts than adults.
The Acadiana Regional Transportation Safety Coalition and the South Central Regional Safety Coalition work each day to try to change the statistics. ....

The Louisiana Strategic Highway Safety Program Destination Zero Death has a mission to bring awareness to the importance of wearing a seat belt.
As part of this effort, the Acadiana Regional Transportation Safety Coalition and the South Central Regional Safety Coalition will host a webinar on seat belt safety aimed at young drivers on Thursday, December 17
th, from 4 pm to 5 pm.
Teens buckle up less frequently than adults do.
In 2013, over half of teens (ages 15-19) killed in crashes werenât wearing a seat belt. ....
