Some gunmen have abducted a female journalist who is a nursing mother from her resident on the outskirts of Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.
The journalist, Amra Ahmed Diska, is the News Editor with Adamawa State Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), located in Mbamba community in Yola.
It was learnt that about 15 gunmen stormed the residence of the victim in the early hours of Tuesday and forcefully took her away, leaving behind her six-month-old baby.
The kidnappers upon their arrival into the residence broke the sitting room door and gained access into the bedroom, demanding to see the victim’s husband. ....

Female journalist abducted in Adamawa

Daily Trust learnt that the assailants who seemed to have targeted Amra’s husband abducted her when they couldn’t find him.
“It appears the gunmen came with the aim of kidnapping the husband of the journalist. But since they didn’t meet him, they decided to kidnap the nursing mother,” a source said.
The spokesman for Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, saying the journalist was abducted from her husband’s house at Mbamba between 1:00am and 2:00am.
He said the police operatives had been dispatched to track down the kidnappers and bring them to justice, expressing confidence that the victim would be rescued. ....

Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Ibrahim Abdullahi from Adamawa State Police Command has been confirmed dead while three others sustained injuries during an operation to make arrests in a case of criminal conspiracy and theft.
This was made known in a statement issued in Yola, the state capital by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje.
According to Nguroje the policemen were attacked by no fewer than 60 armed hoodlums with dangerous weapons, at Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state. ....

4 arrested in Adamawa over alleged kidnap, extortion

Four suspects have been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly kidnapping some people and extorting money from others.
The Police Command which disclosed this in a statement to newsmen Wednesday, said it recovered N86,000 cash, three single barrel guns, threat letters, handsets and SIM cards from the suspects.
“On the 9/4/2021 and 11/4/2021 the Operatives of the Command attached to Gombi Division, received Complaint from two residents of Wuro Garba and Lugga villages of Hong Local Government Area that they received separate letters threatening them to pay a Million Naira each or risk being kidnapped,” the police statement said. ....
