Applications being accepted for Community Foundation's Capital Grants program


Local charities and non-profit organizations can now apply for grants to support projects that benefit the community.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce will accept applications for grants up to $30,000 until June 30.
Priorities are based on the Foundations Vital Signs report, which lays out the needs and priorities of the area based on health, arts, education, living standards, and
community connections.

Not much time left for non-profits to apply for community grants


Charities and Non-Profits have until April 15 to apply community grants.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce reminds those interested their projects must benefit the community in at least one of the categories listed in the application.
Each of the wellbeing indicators are outlined in the Foundation’s Vital Signs report.
Vital Signs is a community check-up conducted by Community Foundations across Canada that measures the vitality of communities and supports action on issues that are critical to quality of life.
Applicants will be asked to describe how their project relates to the report.
Grants will be distributed to successful applicants in May. ....

Local non-profits to receive federal funding to expand employment and other opportunities

Nine organizations in Central Ontario have been awarded funding to help create employment and strengthen the nonprofit and charitable sector, including 4 in Grey-Bruce.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce and Georgian College have partnered to disperse over $341,000 to the groups through the Government of Canada’s Investment Readiness Program, through Community Foundations of Canada.
Eat Local Grey Bruce in Owen Sound was awarded $45,000 to formalize policies and procedures, complete full financial assessments and perform strategic planning for sustainable
growth.
$38,634 will go to fund the Launch Pad Youth Activity and Technology Centre in Hanover, for a feasibility study & business plan to operate an ice cream truck as employment training for youth. ....
