CT Music: Concert season is busting out all over the state

The concert scene is catching up after a year off, and promoters are sending announcements at warp speed, resulting in a musical Inbox full of ticket on-sale dates, with musicians prepping for the road and traveling through the state.

The Black Crowes announced “the return of rock and roll,” with rescheduled dates for the long-awaited “Shake Your Moneymaker” tour. The Crowes will play the Xfinity Theater in Hartford on July 25. Throughout the past month, your NRA hosted eighteen (18) in-person town hall meetings (and numerous virtual ones) with lawmakers in key states to discuss pending legislation at the federal level. Attendance at these town halls was at capacity in most places, and due to covid restrictions we had to set up a waiting list because we had more RSVPs than seats available in a number of states! ....

Outcry on L.A.'s Westside over Bonin's homelessness plan

For nearly 20 years, Matt Stayner and his wife have been sending their children to Westchester Park Easter egg hunts in the spring, swimming pool trips in the summer, the big community parade on the Fourth of July.
But after seeing dozens of tents go up across the park last year, Stayner decided he no longer wants his daughters going there unaccompanied. He grew even more alarmed after learning the park is one of several recreation areas being considered for “safe camping,” a program that allows homeless people to pitch their tents and receive social services.
Now, Stayner is volunteering with a group looking to recall Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin, who came up with the idea. And he’s been asking neighbors to oppose Bonin’s proposal. ....
