A convicted sex offender who has previously served time for robbery is accused of going on a multi-state robbery spree with his sister.
Charles Pingley, 52, of Dunn, and his sister, Loretta Johnson, 50, of Maryville, Tennessee, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Tennessee on Feb. 17 for one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery and two counts of bank robbery, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
The indictment alleges that Pingley and Johnson conspired to rob banks in North Carolina and Tennessee between October and December. ....
