Atlantique Marine and Engineering Services, promoters of the AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port, on Thursday, met with stakeholders and prospective port users in Edo State to seek improved partnerships ahead of the commencement of operations.
This followed the signing of a joint venture agreement between the Edo State government and the firm on the AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port, according to a statement issued by the state government.
The Managing Director, AMES-Edo Inland Container Dry Port, Mr Charles Akhigbe, at the stakeholders’ sensitisation meeting at the Government House, Benin City, said the port would improve economic activities in the state and create thousands of jobs for Edo people and many other Nigerians. ....

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said his administration will establish a college of nursing sciences, as part of his administration’s plans to reposition and integrate the state into Nigeria’s medical hub.

Obaseki stated this when the Secretary-General and Registrar, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Faruk Abubakar, led other members of the council to visit him at the Government House, Benin City.
He said the state would begin the process for upgrading the School of Nursing and Midwifery to a College of Nursing Sciences, adding: “We are repositioning the state to become a medical hub. That means that our standard has to be higher than the national standard. ....

Les services de Météo-France viennent de placer la Guadeloupe en vigilance jaune pour fortes pluies et orages. Le temps risque de se dégrader au cours de ces prochaines heures jusqu à minimum jeudi.
L onde tropicale n°13 gagne la Basse Terre en début de matinée de mercredi en donnant déjà de bonnes averses parfois orageuses et accompagnées de rafales de vent. Ces averses traverseront l Archipel dans la journée. Toute la région sera impactée par les précipitations mais des cumuls de pluies importants sont attendus, notamment sur la côte au Vent, le relief ainsi que dans la région Pointoise et Nord Basse Terre. Les rafales de vent pourront atteindre 60 à 70 km/h en plaine voire plus sur le relief. ....
