Team Sask. Brier run comes to an end with semi final loss to Alberta

Facing Team Alberta’s Brendan Bottcher in the semi-final of the Canadian Men’s Curling National Championships, Team Matt Dunstone fell 6-5.
“There’s nothing to hang our heads about. I mean it was a world class game, they played.we played awesome. The curling Gods were wearing a blue sweater today,” said skip, Matt Dunstone, referring Alberta’s jersey colours.
Team Saskatchewan curled a combined 88 per cent, while Alberta was at a total 82 per cent efficiency. The rinks exchanged single points throughout the game, but Saskatchewan’s first error came in the eighth end. With hammer and facing two Alberta red stones, Dunstone was trying to tap Alberta’s rock out of the four foot and stick his own. However, Saskatchewan’s yellow rock rolled out to give up a steal of one. ....

Their run at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier came down to the second-last day.
Team Northern Ontario, represented by Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs and his team from the Community First Curling Centre, had their Brier come to an end on Saturday following split on the final day of Championship Pool action at the 10-day event.
With a 7-5 record, the Jacobs rink, which includes third Marc Kennedy, second E.J. Harnden, lead Ryan Harnden, and alternate Lee Toner, didn’t advance to the Brier playoffs, which are set for Sunday at the Markin MacPhail Arena in Calgary. ....

Jacobs rink wraps up round robin play, advances to Championship Pool (update)

Team Northern Ontario, represented by Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs and his team from the Community First Curling Centre, is off to the Championship Pool of the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary.
Following the completion of the round robin on Thursday night, Jacobs’ 5-3 record was good enough for third in Pool A and a spot in the Championship Pool.
In their round robin finale, the Jacobs rink found itself behind early and couldn’t quite battle all the way back in their lone game of the day. ....

They entered the day with a 2-2 record, but Team Northern Ontario, represented by Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs, will move into action on Wednesday at the 2021 Tim Hortons Brier in good position thanks to a pair of victories on Tuesday.
The Jacobs rink, which includes third Marc Kennedy, second E.J. Harnden, lead Ryan Harnden, and alternate Lee Toner, sits at 4-2 through five days at the event. ....
