Walkers and cyclists in March to benefit from £60k as delivery of 'Quick Wins' gathers pace

It’s hoped that more people will take to active travel in March after the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority agreed to spend £60,000 on quick win schemes.
Wednesday s transport and infrastructure committee recommended the Combined Authority draw down £60k to help make walking and cycling around March easier, safer and more enjoyable.
Committee members noted how more of March’s ‘Quick Wins’ have been delivered with others moving into construction.
Councillors Jan French and Steve Count campaigned for a zebra crossing in St Peter s Road, which was delivered as a Quick Win scheme.
Following updates on delivery of the Quick Wins , members unanimously agreed to recommend the budget for developing a programme of schemes for walkers and cyclists as part of the overall March Area Transport Study. ....

Quick win zebra crossing scheme hailed a success for March school children and pedestrians

School children and other pedestrians can safely cross one of the busiest roads in March thanks to a new zebra crossing.
A campaign by both residents and local councillors over the past few years culminated in the installation of the crossing on St Peter s Road recently with the help of finance from Cambridgeshire Mayor James Palmer and the combined authority.
The scheme which has been hailed as a major success by county councillors Jan French and Steve Count was the first of a number of road safety projects planned for March as part of a series of quick wins approved by Mayor Palmer thanks to an underspend from the previous stage of the March Area Transport Study. ....
