As lack of doses hit govt vax centres, pvt hospitals saw a rise in recipients | Noida News

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Some of the private vaccination centres in Noida and Ghaziabad saw increased footfall over the weekend as shortage of doses halted inoculations at government facilities.
The hospitals said more people had come in the first week of July than the last week of June. “We were doing an average of about 100 doses daily. However, in the past few days, we have been vaccinating 100-150 people every day. More people now want to get vaccinated at the earliest but want to avoid crowded centres,” said Dr Dinesh Sharma, director of Kailash Hospital at Greater Noida.
Apart from government facilities, the three private centres in Noida that have inoculated the maximum number of people are Kailash, Felix Hospital and Max Superspeciality Centre. All three centres have reported an increase in the number of recipients since the beginning of the month. “The crowd at our 24x7 drive-through site was very high when it had started but kept reducing ....

The cases of rare black fungus infection linked with Covid-19 have started to appear across the hospitals in the national capital, the doctors said this alarming disorder called Mucormycosis is rare but not new in the medical history. But the new things is the impact of Covid behind triggering this deadly infection. The disorder is being highlighted by the Ganga Ram hospital a few days ago. 
Almost 24 cases has been reported at the Max Superspeciality hospital in Delhi in the midst of the pandemic which was only four last year. Sanjay Sachdeva, Principal Director of ENT, Max hospital, told reporters that all these fungal patients had Covid-19 while 20 of them lost their eyesight.  While we lost one patient, three were recovered without any incision, he added. He added the Covid attack is aggravating the fungal infection.  Its aggressiveness has increased in the Covid times, as within two days of detection, people have started to lose their eyes, nose and other body p ....
