Property sold to Z Modular was sold for just over $1 million


At that total, the price was about $50,500 per acre and about $1.16 per square foot.
Jennifer Hetzel with the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, said the property is located at 5101 Roy J. Smith Drive and was appraised at the $1.01 million value. However, she said the current appraised value is not available via Bell County.
She also said that there were no incentives included in the sale of the land.
David Barr, the owner of David Barr Properties in Killeen, said the price for the parcel of land in northeast Killeen is about right.
“Northeast Killeen has the lowest prices and is the hardest property to sell in our area,” Barr said.

Additional $1.2M to benefit A&M-Central Texas transfer 'portal' | Local News


With Texas A&M University-Central Texas being the only upper-division university in Texas, an additional $1.2 million specifically for the Killeen institution will help it enhance its Transfer Central program.
As an upper-division university, it offers only junior- and senior-level courses, meaning all of its students are transfers from other schools.
Rep. Brad Buckley, R-Salado, highlighted the additional $1.2 million during a presentation at a public policy luncheon, hosted by the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce at A&M-Central Texas.
Buckley touted the university’s reputation in the state of Texas.
“Just start to finish, you can receive the least expensive bachelor’s degree in the state of Texas,” he said.

Killeen photography studio now open in new location


A picture development and photography studio that has been operating in Killeen for about two years officially cut the ribbon on its new location Thursday afternoon.
Premium PIX Studios is located at 17 N. College St. in Killeen and the owners along with community support and the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce cut a ceremonial red ribbon and welcomed local residents to visit the photography studio and get any photos they need developed.
Along with film development, PIX also offers studio rental, digital photo retouching, graphic design, business and personal branding, web page development and commercial and ad development. The office hours are Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and appointments may be requested for other times.

Bubba's 33 grand opening draws a crowd | Business


Diners hoping for a chance to win free Bubba’s 33 food for a year lined up outside Killeen’s newest eatery early Wednesday morning, hours before the establishment’s grand opening.
Bubba’s 33, 3701 E. Central Texas Expressway, officially opened the doors to its 7,500 square-foot Killeen location at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Bubba's 33 restaurant opened Wednesday in Killeen to a crowd of a about a hundred people wrapped around all four sides of the 7,500 square-foot building. The restaurant is located at 3701 E. Central Texas Expressway.

New Killeen restaurant officially opens Wednesday


A new restaurant in Killeen, Bubba’s 33, provided food to the Killeen Police Department ahead of its official opening Wednesday. The restaurant is located at 3701 E. Central Texas Expressway.
“The food was delicious! We appreciate your gratitude and support for our first responders,” a post on the KPD Facebook page said.
The new restaurant is a 7,500 square-foot building with a covered patio with 70 seats for outdoor dining. Inside, guests will find wall-to-wall TVs, upbeat music, and music videos, according to the release.
The menu for the restaurant also includes beef and bacon burgers, fresh wings, lasagna, and marinated ribeye.
The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight.

New Killeen business designed to help people lose unnecessary pain


A new physical therapy business in Killeen celebrated its ribbon cutting with the help of the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
Ninja Physio, 2304 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, is a fitness and physical training facility that is designed to help people get rid of unnecessary pain.
Hipolito Sarabia and Dr. Lily Yu are co-owners of the business that has been open since August 2020 but moved into its current location in January.
“What we do here is help people eliminate pain,” Sarabia said. “We know that a lot of people are using temporary solutions so they go and they never find the real solution that fixes it permanently.”
