Coalition of Chambers reminds public to support local businesses by following COVID-19 Safe Guidelines

MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Friday, the New Hampshire Commerce Corridor (NHCC), a coalition of seven Chambers of Commerce from around New Hampshire, issued a joint statement urging members of the public to support local businesses by continuing to social distance, wear masks and follow other COVID-19 safety guidelines.
The announcement comes on the heels of news that New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu will not extend New Hampshire’s mask mandate, citing dropping death rates and the state achieving a 70 percent vaccination rate.
On the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 dashboard as of April 16, 445 daily cases were reported on average from April 9 to April 16, a 10 percent increase from the previous week. ....

Hassan co-sponsors act that will help businesses like Exile Burrito

BERLIN â Two months before the opening of Exile Burrito restaurant in downtown Berlin, Gov. Chris Sununu declared a state of emergency because of COVID-19 and closed all indoor dining.
Owner Adam Hammill told U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) he decided to go forward with opening the restaurant despite the pandemic because he had spent a year and a half planning it. Hammill said running the restaurant has been difficult and along the way he had to lay-off some employees.
Hassan said most businesses that started up after Feb. 15, 2020 have been unable to access COVID-19 relief programs. She said she has co-sponsored the âRecovery Startup Assistance Actâ as part of the stimulus bill just passed by Congress to provide payroll assistance to small businesses that started up during the pandemic. ....
