Three people rescued from overturned boat off Portsmouth coast

PORTSMOUTH Three people from an overturned 42-foot trimaran were rescued Friday, according to the Coast Guard.
Petty Officer Amanda Wyrick said crews responded with a Jayhawk helicopter after receiving an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon alert about 4:21 p.m. from the sailing vessel known as Triad.
The EPIRB system sends a signal if a boat is submerged and can also be signaled manually, Wyrick said. The boat was about 20 miles off Portsmouth and the Jayhawk was sent from Air Station Cape Cod, she said. No one was injured.
Triad was hoisted and brought to Pease Air National Guard Base in Portsmouth, according to Wyrick. ....

Three people clinging to the hull of an overturned sailboat were rescued Friday evening 20 miles off the coast of Portsmouth.
Coast Guard crews using a Jayhawk helicopter rescued the people clinging to the 42-foot sailing vessel Triad. They were taken to Pease Air National Guard Base in Portsmouth, the Coast Guard said in a tweet.
