Sandy Richter joins Dakota Family Services | News, Sports, Jobs

Sandy Richter, LCSW, recently joined Dakota Family Services, an outpatient behavioral health clinic with clinics in Fargo and Minot.
Richter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who provides therapy for children and adolescents, ages 6-17, and adults 18 and older, who are experiencing life stressors, stage of life changes, or who have complex behavioral health issues. Richter is a gender-inclusive practitioner stating, “I work hard to be an affirming therapist and to be inclusive of individuals with developmental or gender identity issues, creating a safe and accepting environment for individuals to be their authentic selves.” Richter will provide in-person appointments at the Minot location and is also available to provide online therapy. ....

Since 1983, April has been known as National Child Abuse Prevention month, and local organizations are looking to use the month to bring awareness to the issue.
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Chautauqua County is one of those organizations. By recruiting, training and supporting volunteers, CASA provides advocates for childrens’ needs in court and in the community.
“CASA volunteers are a constant for the child in a time of chaos,” executive director Kathy Park said. “A child may have multiple social workers, attorneys, therapists, and foster placements throughout the life of the case but only one CASA volunteer, which can make all the difference for the child’s future.” ....
