Tell Tales 2-18-21 It was February of 1983, 38 years ago this week. My sister-in-law, Sandy, and I were working in a back office upstairs at 108 W. Perry Street, where the Clinton House Restaurant is now. We were putting the finishing touches on Vol. 1, No. 1 of The Beacon. We were highlighting the new officers of the Ottawa County Heart Association, Gary Kohli and Kathy Steinmiller, along with a photo of Bill Friemark passing the gavel as president of the Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce to Howard Guenther. It was the first edition of The Beacon, dedicated to positive local weekly news and information.
