Earlier this month, the Ayush ministry offered detailed advice on how to build one’s immunity during the “Covid-19 Crisis”. To help ward off the dreaded disease, the ministry listed a series of specific recommendations, including, “Apply Sesame oil/Coconut oil/Cow Ghee. in both the nostrils in morning and evening.”
However, if one didn’t like putting stuff in one’s nose, the ministry offered an alternative: “Take 1 table spoon sesame oil or coconut oil in the mouth. Do not drink, swish in the mouth for 2 to 3 minutes and spit it off followed by warm water rinse [sic]”. ....

Phase-3 clinical trials for 2-DG may continue till Aug: Registry data


With the government presenting DRDO-developed drug 2-DG as a potential game-changer in the fight against COVID-19, the clinical trial registry data suggests that the phase-3 trials for the medicine at over two dozen government and private hospitals and involving 220 patients may continue till August.
The third-phase trials began in January, while the phase-2 trials were conducted over a three-month period between June and September last year and involved 110 patients.
While 2-DG has been studied in more than 200 clinical trials for the treatment of various cancers globally, trials to use it as a COVID-19 drug are apparently being done in India only and incidentally, a strong case for its therapeutic use against the novel coronavirus was made in a study paper last year that had Patanjali Research Institute s Acharya Balkrishna as the lead author. ....

Yoga teacher Ramdev today released a research paper on Coronil.
New Delhi:
Yoga teacher Ramdev on Friday released a research paper on what he called the first evidence-based medicine for COVID-19 by Patanjali - Coronil in presence of Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Ramdev said that the research paper would clear all suspicions related to Coronil, which Patanjali says is an ayurvedic medicine for Covid. When we launched Coronil, people raised questions on its validity and asked if we followed scientific parameters. People think research can only happen in foreign countries. With this research, we have cleared all suspicions about Coronil, he said, according to news agency ANI. ....
