Pakistan: The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) says that the country’s installed cement production capacity will reach 99Mt/yr within the next few years, with most of the planned work to be completed by mid-2023. The Dawn newspaper has reported that producers are launching new cement plant projects and expanding existing plants with a total new capacity of 18Mt/yr. Upon completion, the current projects will increase domestic cement production capacity by 43% to 99Mt/yr from 69Mt/yr. 94Mt/yr of the new capacity is situated in Northern Pakistan and 5.0Mt/yr in Southern Pakistan. ....

LAHORE: Pakistan’s cement producers plan to expand their capacity by more than 40 per cent from nearly 69 million tonnes to nearly 99m tonnes over the next several years in anticipation of 10-15pc growth in their sales every year, claims an All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) official.
Speaking with
Dawn, the APCMA official, who requested anonymity, said almost every cement manufacturer had planned to increase their production capacity through greenfield and brownfield projects. Many projects, especially the brownfield ones, are expected to come on line in the next two years, adding nearly 18m tonnes to the existing capacity. ....

For any country, exports are a major indicator of their productivity. Cement production, on the other hand, is an indicator of how well is the construction industry progressing. Both of these figures, especially in the context of the latter have shown an uptick in recent years pointing towards a gradual improvement in the economic health of our country. Cement manufacturers in the country have claimed that cement sales have increased multifold on the back of strong domestic consumption and exports.
With the Imran Khan-led government championing the construction sector as the panacea for the economic morass the country finds itself in, the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) say that local sales during July-April 2020-21 surged by 18.87% to 40.249 million tonnes from 33.859 million tonnes in the same period during the last fiscal year. Exports also improved to 8.025 million tonnes during the first 10 months of the ongoing ....

The cement sector posted a robust growth of 40.41% in April 2021 as total sales reached 4.94 million tons against 3.52 million tons in the same month of previous year.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local cement offtake in April 2021 rose to 4.1 million tons against 3.27 million tons in April 2020, showing a healthy growth of 24.29%.
Following a similar trend, exports increased by a significant 252%, rising from 249,127 tons in April 2020 to 877,163 tons in April 2021.
Cement mills based in northern Pakistan sold 3.38 million tons in domestic markets, an increase of 15.33% over 2.93 million tons sold in April 2020. Similarly, the mills based in southern Pakistan recorded 100% growth in sales as they shipped 688,239 tons to the local market in April 2021. Th ....

Pakistan’s cement industry registered strong growth of 40.4 per cent in April 2021, when total cement dispatches reached 4.943Mt versus 3.52Mt during the same month of the previous fiscal. Similarly, the country saw a massive surge in cement exports by 252 per cent, while local dispatches rose by 24 per cent during the month.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), local dispatches during April 2021 increased to 4.066Mt from 3.271Mt a year earlier.
Cement plants based in the north dispatched 3.377Mt of cement domestically, up 15.3 per cent from 2.928Mt dispatched in April 2020. Southern mills dispatched 688,239t of cement to local markets during April 2021, translating to a robust growth of 100 per cent compared to dispatches of 342,594t in April 2020. ....
