Tigers Wrap Up Competition at NCAA Columbus Regional in 10th Place

Columbus, Ohio - Led by a final-round, even-par 72 from Savannah Grewal, the Clemson women’s golf team closed out play at the NCAA Columbus Regional hosted by Ohio State on The Ohio State University Golf Club - Scarlet Course. The 54-hole NCAA Regional site took the top six teams and three individuals following stroke play competition to advance to the NCAA Nationals being held at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. from May 21-26. Georgia, Duke, Arizona State, Kentucky, Michigan, and Kent State stayed above the cut line to book their ticket to the national tournament while the top three individuals not from a qualifying team advanced. The Bulldogs and Sun Devils were the only teams to finish the final round at even par, however, no team across the 18 team field finished at even-par or better through the entirety of the event. Ivy Shepherd was the low finisher for the Tiger squad, capping off her 73-74 opening rounds with a final round 75 to bring her 54-hole tournament tot ....

Clemson Starts Play at NCAA Regional on Monday
Clemson, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team will begin competition in the NCAA Columbus (Ohio) Regional at The Scarlet Course on Monday.   Clemson is one of 18 teams in the field, and the top six after three days of stroke play (May 10-12) will advance to the NCAA Finals at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, May 21-26.
The Columbus Regional is one of four regional sites that include 18 teams each.   LSU, Stanford and Louisville serve as hosts of the other three regionals.
Clemson is the number-eight seed in the regional that also includes number-one seed Duke and number-three seed Virginia from the ACC.    This is the sixth time in seven opportunities that Clemson has earned a regional bid.  Last year’s tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.    ....

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 31 Clemson women’s golf team tied its opening-round score of 293 at the ACC Championship on Friday, finishing the stroke-play portion of the competition in sixth place. The top four teams of Duke, Wake Forest, Florida State, and Virginia have advanced to the match-play semifinals which are set for tomorrow with the finals being contested on Sunday. The top three teams all rank among the top-five nationally as the Cavaliers rank 12th according to Golfstat polls. 
Golfstat’s 77th ranked individual, Gina Kim of Duke, took home stroke-play medalist honors after rounds of 68-69-69-206 gave her a three-stroke margin over No. 3 Beatrice Wallin of Florida State.  ....

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team wrapped up 36 holes of continuous play on Thursday, finishing the opening day of the ACC Women’s Golf Championship in seventh place. The Tigers will play the final round of stroke play beginning Friday morning at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. with the top four teams advancing to the match-play portion of the tournament being held on Saturday and Sunday. 
As a team, the Tigers recorded scores of 293 and 304 to finish the day at 21-over-par and in the seventh position. Despite Duke leading the field throughout the day, No. 3 Wake Forest overtook the Blue Devils in the latter half of the afternoon to sit in first place at 11-under-par, two shots better than No. 2 Duke. The fifth-ranked Florida State squad holds on to the third position at one-over-par as No. 15 Virginia Tech is in fourth at seven-over.  ....

Clemson Travels To Sedgefield Country Club For ACC Championship
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s golf team is set to compete in the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC. The tournament begins Thursday, April 15, and concludes Sunday, April 18, and will feature three rounds of stroke play on Thursday (two rounds) and Friday (one round) before match play begins on Saturday. The top four teams following stroke play will advance to the match-play semifinals on Saturday with the finals being contested on Sunday.
Clemson brings along a lineup of Ivy Shepherd, Savannah Grewal, Annabelle Pancake, Alexandra Swayne, and Callista Rice. Shepherd and Swayne are the only two within this season’s ACC Championship lineup that have previously competed in the event.  ....
