SAMPLER: Anne Lavallee celebrates 100 with friends, family Mary Wenzel Anne Lavallee, on July 13, joined a growing number of centenarians and celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends. Born and raised in Marlborough, Anne lived in Marlborough until four years ago when she moved into St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham where her celebration took place. The festivities were attended by her three children, Deborah Garcia, Darlene Bourgeois and Jay Lavallee; her son-in-law Charlie Bourgeois; her seven grandchildren: Amber Swenson, Jeff Garcia, Tim Bourgeois, Ted Bourgeois, Alicia Garcia, Tara Bartley and Jayson Lavallee; and six out of seven great-grandchildren: Tyler Swenson, Bailey Bourgeois, Evan Swenson, Kate Bourgeois, Jack and Charlie Bourgeois. Go Purple for Domestic Violence 5K fundraiser Friday, April 23 ); Friday, April 23 will be Go Purple for Domestic Violence, a national day of fundraising and awareness for local domestic violence services across the country. The initiative is being led by An Garda Síochána in partnership with Safe Ireland and Men’s Aid. It is a great opportunity to work with your local Gardaí, to raise awareness about domestic violence and your local service. It will also be a great local fundraising day for such services. Roscommon Safe Link is the local service in Co Roscommon and surrounding counties. It is a non-profit charitable organisation supporting people who experience domestic abuse. In addition to crisis response Safe Link also provides education and group support, counselling and signposting to other relevant organisations. ....

Treasurer Sarah Strong said it is $193,033 from the recently passed COVID-19 Relief Act. That’s $99 per person, based on the 2019 census estimate. Even though the township “hasn’t seen the money yet,” Jennings suggest they talk about how to spend it. “I’ll give you my thoughts. Mainly I’d like to see it spent for roads, she said. Former Trustee John Shilling had suggested asphalt in the cemeteries. “I’d like to see some in this parking lot,” Jennings said of the township hall on South Ray-Quincy Road. ....
