Panchayat Polls turn a boost to Janasena:- The recent panchayat polls have been completely in the favor of the ruling YSRCP. The opposition party TDP struggled a lot to make an impact in the local body polls and they lost their grip in most of the regions in which they are super strong from the past few years. Janasena performed well in several panchayats and its performance has been remarkable. BJP once again proved that they are far away from the trace of the people as they lacked a strong cadre in the state. BJP struggled hard and could not open their account in the recent panchayat polls. On the other side, the leaders of BJP are quite happy as Janasena performed well than expected in the local body polls.

(Representational Photo: DC) Kadapa: The ruling YSR Congress has won all the panchayats in Pulivendula assembly constituency represented by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, in this district. The panchayat elections proved that the support for the YSRC and Jagan here has not diminished. Pulivendula has a total of 109 panchayats. Election could not be held for one panchayat – Velamavaripalle in Vempalli mandal. Five candidates had filed nominations there but all of them withdrew the papers later. There were unanimous elections in 90 panchayats. In the remaining 18 panchayats, YSRC supporters won the polls hands down on Sunday.

When the Election Commission is ready to conduct the polls, the AP Government opposed their move. This headed for a legal fight. The High Court recently granted permission to conduct the local body polls and the State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is making all the arrangements for the same. The AP government challenged this decision in the Supreme Court and the case came for hearing in the apex court today. The Supreme Court cleared all the ways and asked the Election Commission to conduct the panchayat elections in the state as per the schedule.

Notification Released For AP Local Body Polls:- The Andhra Pradesh High Court asked the Election Commission to go ahead and conduct the local body polls in the state. The State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar today announced the notification for the first phase of the local body polls in the state. As per the announcement, the first phase of local body polls will be conducted in 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh and the elections in Vizianagaram, Prakasam districts are postponed. Ramesh Kumar said that the elections will be held following all the social distancing guidelines as per the coronavirus pandemic season.
