The Supreme Court today fixed Sunday for hearing a petition filed by Erfan Salim, son of Awami League MP Haji Md Salim, for vacating its stay order on the High Court bail for him in a case filed over attacking a navy officer in October last year.
A full bench of the Appellate Division of the SC headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain set the date after Erfan s lawyers Abdul Baset Majumdar requested the apex court for early hearing on the petition. ....

The Supreme Court today set April 19 for hearing a petition filed by Erfan Salim, son of Awami League MP Haji Md Salim, for vacating its stay order on the High Court bail order for him in a case filed over attacking a navy officer in October last year.
Chamber judge of the Appellate Division of the SC, Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, sent the petition to its full bench for hearing on that day.

The High Court yesterday rejected the bail petition of lawmaker Mohammad Shahid Islam s wife Selina Islam MP and their daughter Wafa Islam in a corruption case involving Tk 148.41 crore.
The court also ordered Selina, a lawmaker from reserved seats, and Wafa to surrender before the trial court concerned within 10 days in connection with the case.
The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Ahmed Sohel came up with the order after virtually hearing their petition. ....
