Sushil Chaudhary of Picture Time, who introduced the concept of mobile cinema halls, has now converted his theatres into a hospital for Covid patients. Speaking about the same, Chaudhary says, All the hospitals are overwhelmed with demands for oxygen and beds; they need to add extra beds on an urgent basis and we need to save human lives. Therefore I felt our theatres could be put to use. We have already installed two mobile theatres at the Apollo hospital in Delhi, and have been getting orders for 10 vans per day. We are currently working towards it .
Chaudhary is also planning to hand over his mobile theatres, equipped with much-needed oxygen, to hospitals across the country. We have added portable oxygen generator which can make medical-grade oxygen with the flow rate of 15 lit/hour and has silicon MGPS SYSTEM with zero leakage. If we cannot give even oxygen, our patients will die, said Sunil Kumar Saggar, CEO of Shanti Mukand Hospital in Karkardooma, in a choked voice around 2.43pm on Thursday with his hospital left with just two hours of oxygen. He was anxious about the 110 Covid patients in their care.
The crisis had started brewing at this 200-bed hospital around 3am. Out of the 110 Covid patients, 12 were on ventilator with one consuming 18 litres of oxygen per minute. Saggar, along with a couple of doctors, reviewed the situation and hoped to survive for some more hours, relying on the 1.7 metric tonnes of oxygen received from their vendor a day earlier. Apollo Tyres is gearing up to extend its range of locally manufactured tyres in the luxury vehicle space with the Vredestein brand in the coming days. “We are bringing in our Dutch brand, Vredestein, and it s going to be launched in India very soon,” confirmed Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres, in an interview with Autocar India. He mentioned that the company will leverage the global brand to cater to “the whole market segment of 17-24-inch tyres.”
