The Councillor for Commerce and Hospitality of the Torrevieja City Council, Rosario Martínez, together with the president of the Association of Hospitality Companies of Torrevieja and Comarca (AEHTC), Joaquín Guillamó, and the member of the Board of Directors of the association and Ignacio Pastor, have presented the 6th Edition “Nos vamos de tapas”, which will take place from April 15 to 18 and from April 22 to 25.
“Nos vamos de tapas” is an initiative that aims to promote associated establishments through a wide selection of tapas. A total of 23 establishments participate in this sixth edition and, due to the restrictive measures affecting the sector, the traditional format has been changed, adapting it to the current situation and avoiding crowds at all times. That is why this new format will present the tapas on the table, accompanied by two drinks, at a single price of 10 euro. ....

The Iranian-French photojournalist Abbas was a member of the Magnum photographic agency. Beginning in the 1960s, he was often on the scene for events that shook the world. He spent two years documenting the Iranian revolution, and his travels also took him to Northern Ireland, the Middle East, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Chile, Cuba, Mexico and South Africa, among other places. His work mainly focuses on political and religious conflicts. For the first time, this film looks at the man who saw himself as a historian of the present, and captures the last words of one of the most important photographers of our time. Cher featured in the musical comedy sequel ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ and revealed that she is prepared to reprise the role so she can duet with her on-screen daughter Donna Sheridan-Carmichael (Meryl Streep).
According to producer Judy Craymer – who has worked on both the stage and cinematic versions of the ABBA musical – Cher, 74, had told her: “No one wants to see us old people on the screen.”
Judy responded by saying that she wanted Cher to be in the film and would love to see her sing ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’ with Meryl. ....

Palestinian president flies to Germany for medical checkup

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas flew to Germany on Monday for a medical checkup, Palestinian officials said.
Abbas, 85, has long been in poor health and was admitted to hospital with pneumonia in 2018. A heavy smoker, he was also treated in a U.S. hospital the same year during a trip to address the U.N. Security Council.
Abbas flew by Jordanian helicopter from his Ramallah headquarters in the Israeli-occupied West Bank to Amman, where he made a brief comment on the placing of Jordanian King Abdullah’s half-brother under house arrest. ....
