NEW DELHI, June 03, 2021 (BSS) – The coronavirus pandemic that continues to wreak havoc across India, left thousands of children orphan as they lost their parents due to the most contagious Covid-19 infection.
The virus has shattered their families and left them vulnerable in society although the Indian government had promised to help orphaned children with ensuring their food, clothes, shelter and security.
According to a data collected by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), a total of 1,742 children became orphans while 140 were abandoned. Children who lost either of their parents were 7,464. ....

Covid-19 ravages India, health professionals have to fight with a rare
“Mucormycosis” or “Black Fungus” infections that showed a rapid rise
among the Covid-19 patients in different Indian states.
The rare but fatal fungal infections that detected in the country
roughly two months back also reported from various Indian states that
prompted the authorities to declare the disease as “epidemic” under
the “Epidemic Disease Act” of India.
The Indian health ministry today sent a letter to all state
governments asking to list the “Mucormycosis or Black Fungus”
infection under the “Epidemic Diseases Act” and notify it to the union
health ministry. ....

NEW DELHI, Mar 03, 2021 (BSS) – Alongside Bangabandhu Memorial in Tungipara, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Orakandi, a sacred shrine of “Matua” community in Gopalganj and “Satipith” in Shikarpur, Barishal during his upcoming Bangladesh visit.
Modi is set to visit Bangladesh on March 26-27 at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to join the 50th anniversary celebration of Independence of Bangladesh, the Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu and the 50th year of Bangladesh-India diplomatic ties.
The Indian Premier is set to visit Bangabandhu memorial in Tungipara to pay homage to Bangladesh’s Founding Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 27 and on the same day he is expected to visit Orakandi temple and “Satipith”. ....
