MANILA, Philippines Veteran Kiefer Ravena said Gilas Pilipinas is motivated to duplicate the feat of the 2013 batch when the current squad faces off with rival South Korea in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Qatar.
Gilas hasn’t really found success in the last five matchups with the Koreans since the Jimmy Alapag-led crew hammered out a dramatic 86-79 victory eight years ago in the Asia Cup semifinals at MOA Arena.
Now Ravena and Co. have two shots at payback in the Group A bubble in Doha. The Filipinos play powerhouse South Korea on Feb. 18 and Feb. 22 at the Al Gharafa SC Multi-Purpose Hall. ....
