Subaru Forester Just Scored Its Best-Ever May But It's Not All Good News

Subaru of America announced the 2021 Subaru Forester had its best-ever May sales. Subaru delivered 20,006 Forester models to customers last month compared with 17,859 models in May 2020, a 12.0 percent increase. Forester is still the Camden, N.J automaker s best-selling model in the lineup. Forester is up 31.3 percent with 87,152 model sales year to date.
With the Subaru plant in Japan shutdown, supplies of the 2022 Forester model change could be delayed. Usually, customers would see the new model in early summer, but that could change.

Is the Subaru Crosstrek a popular vehicle? Subaru of America (SOA) announced April sales, and the 2021 Crosstrek had a best-ever month, beating the entire lineup in the percentage of increase. The recently-refreshed Crosstrek posted a 180.7 increase with 12,599 models delivered to customers compared with 4,489 sold in April 2020.
The 2021 Crosstrek set a blistering pace and is up 83.8 percent year to date, while the closest SUV is the popular Outback with a 40.74 percent increase for the year. The 2021 Crosstrek was updated with a new 2.5-liter Boxer engine with 30 additional horsepower, and it helped launch the small SUV to record sales. Customers can get the new engine upgrade in the all-new Crosstrek Sport and Limited trims. ....

Subaru delivered 19,452 Forester models to customers last month compared with 9,431 models in April 2020, a 106.3 percent increase. Forester is the Camden, N.J automaker s best-selling model in the lineup. Forester is up 38.4 percent with 67,146 model sales year to date.

Subaru announced the plant would stay dark April 10–27, 2021 (13 workdays: April 10, 12–16, 19–23, and 26–27). Part of the production lines resumed operations on April 21. All of the production lines will resume operations next week on May 10.
